The GE company utilized the EBM technology to manufacture the TiAl intermetallic low-pressure turbine blade, instead of the traditional precision casting process. The manufacturing cost is similar to that of precision casting, while the weight is reduced by 30%. At present, the TiAl intermetallic low-pressure turbine blade manufactured by EBM technology has entered the mass production stage.
